The Royal Guardsmen's "Airplane Song (My Airplane)"

Earlier I listened to two albums by the Royal Guardsmen (Snoopy vs. the Red Baron and Snoopy and His Friends) re-issued on a single disc.  I noticed something about the melody of a line in "Airplane Song (My Airplane)" on Snoopy and His Friends.  For "I can go up," the melody ascends (E E G# B E') with a melisma on "go" to further emphasize it, and for "I can get down," the melody descends (E' F# E' C# A).  There's a parallelism not only in the structure of the two clauses in that line but also in the ascending and descending melodies and the melismas on the verbs "go" and "get."
